Cannot register new battery

I have installed a new battery into my 06 325i today and successfully changed it to the correct capacity via Bimmercode app. But when trying to register with BimmerLink app it fails, says it cannot register the battery. So I tried with toolset32 and that also fails to register the battery.

I swapped out an OEM BMW white battery for a Kirkland H7 battery. The BMW was 70Ah and the Kirkland is 80Ah.

Wow do I ever feel dumb, I was trying to do it with the engine running. Tried it with the engine off and it registered no problem with BimmerLink
