How to drop 335i Auto Transmission

Has anyone done this ? How do you get to the bolts on top?

Drive shaft is off, trans mounts are off , exhaust is off , motor mount bolts are removed so we can try to tilt the engine a bit to give us more room , we can literally move the trans up and down but there isn't enough space to remove the top bolts. How do you get to those ?

WedgePerformance ,
I removed my engine last week to do some maintence. To get to the bolts near the starter you have to remove the intake manifold. All the other bolts cane be removed with long extentions. I may post a diy.Why are you removing the transmission?

They can be removed with the manifold on, but it is a PITA.

Ok so i finished the transmission swap. But DS mode isnt working. When i put the car is DS it doesnt change to DS it stays on D, i can shift up and down manually but after a few seconds it goes back to D , even tho the shifter is in the DS position.

Check the wires in the shifter. It is a known issue.

I had the wire issue a few months ago and i put them back together and ds mode worked again but when i had that issue the DS light on the shifter wouldnt light up. Now it does, just no DS mode at all. I checked the wires and they look OK.I havent flashed the transmission yet , so i am going to try that next.

WedgePerformance ,
Search Shoplife on youtube. He shows step-by-step using long extension to get to those bolts.
