I have a 335i coupe mt now with 137k ... well maintained. I heart it.
I'm half seriously looking at 335xis ... i see a few nice ones come around with about 150k miles .. sport + nav + auto - for around $5500 - which would be my winter-mobile/automatic mobile would y'all ever pull the trigger on something like that? assuming it's well taken care of? ideally i want something loaded with about 100k for $5k .. but doubt that will happen. |

If you are wanting to stay e9X, consider a 328xi? I don't see much benefit from more power in the snow. Less stuff to be concerned with too.

The problem is i haven’t ever drove 328xi so i would be worried the “fun” would not be there. Also i am not seeing huge price differences tbh. I am also not sold on the fact the n52 is that much less to maintain. |

Having never owned an n52, my thought was based on what I've read about reliability. Similar I was basing the price on what I've seen the two of them pop up at here.
I guess I would ask if you are wanting a second fun car, why look at two so similar? Just trying to help make sense of your "drive" here. (I absolutely intended to make that pun) |

The main problem is I’ve yet to stumble across anything that can de-throne this 335. It’s got luxury, great power and potential power, looks very good and unassuming, and gets almost 26mpg! So I’ve researched tons of vehicles and just floating around that $5-6k price point i haven’t really found anything that can compare. |

I paid $5k for my 150k mile 2009 335i xdrive auto. As long as you don't mind working on it, or mind paying to have it fixed, go for it.
I love it and hasn't put a foot wrong since I got it, just been doing preventative maintenance as I can. Its my daily. I've put over 10k miles on it since February. Great in the snow even on run flat all seasons. Proper snows going on it this year and been enjoying the performance, best dragy run of 11.9 @ 116 with tune, ethanol and intercooler The cheap ones are the most fun.

I'd do it, but I wouldn't pay 5k - I'd pay no more than 4 grand if not less. depends on the area, of course, I imagine in PA xdrive is an extra people are willing to pay an extra for.

Man you people are getting cheap lol. Maintenance is key but nothing wrong with a 335xi for winter. IMO, don't waste your time on a 328xi. It will never be as reliable as a Toyota or Honda and it also won't be as fun as a 335.

I feel like 2 higher mile N54s would be a recipe for disaster.. financially and mentally.
