Joyriide Detailed: E90 328i revisited.

You guys should remember this car.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=122692

Well the owner works near a gravel field and hasn't been able to maintain it too well. It has a little added wash induced marring and loads of tiny water spots.

He only needed a thorough touch up and cleaning, but since my full detail I had scheduled, cancelled last minute, figured I would take advantage of the time and just use his car as testing.

I tried a few different methods of use and some mystery products which for now I will not name. Also applied some time efficient techniques to this job. It was my test bed for the afternoon. I got really carried away and ended up polishing all horizontal surfaces of the car.

Excuse the small pictures, my mistake.

Works on a gravel road? Ugh. I think I'd buy myself a $500 beater rather than drive my BMW every day.

Great work as usual!

Well, I like to use alcohal to remove polishing oils and lubricants that can mask and hide defect or halograms. Sometimes after polishing with 106ff I'll think the paint is perfect, but a quick wipe with some alcohal and water will show that some of the defects were masked. Alcohal also leaves the paint perfectly clean and preped for maximum adhesion of w/e sealant or wax you choose.

I buy a small bottle of 70% ISO Alcohal and mix it 1:1 with water.

Right now I have a can of Prepsol my local bodyshop supply was giving away for 5 bucks, so i'm suing that instead of alcohal. Both work the same.

Where in this thread did you see I used alcohal though?

I'm sure the orange peel is still there. Certain angles hide them well.

Every time my car leaves JOYRIIDE113 I hate even driving home because it's so clean! The car looked exactly as on the pics and it was not even a real detail but a thorough wash. Amazing...I don't even know how he gets them looking brand new every time.

If you're in Miami, I highly recommend JOYRIIDE1113
