Transmission Control Unit not found in INPA

I'm getting this error when I try to talk to the Transmission module. All other modules work correctly.

All I could find about this error was to update the files, but I'm using BMW Standard Tools with 56.2 daten files.

I'm using the English INPA scripts from 5.0.2. INPA is 5.0.6 though. Could that be the problem?

One post said to just add a GS1912 line to E90.ENG

Will that do anything?

Your script is setup incorrectly for the module you are trying to read.

INPA has found "GS1912" but the script is looking/setup for the units listed above.

You need to find the correct script that will work for your car or compile your own script with the correct control unit.

Info on writing your own scripts and compiling them can be found in the Doko folders of INPA.

Surprisingly, I already had a GS1912.ipo in SGDAT.

There was an entry for GS1912 in E83.ENG. I copied it over to E90.ENG...that should be all I need to do then?

You don't even need to move anything.

Just select E83 and select the motor through there.

The only thing that will not work/you should stay away from is activations/calibration procedures. They may be different for that chassis.

Btw, if you only need to read/erase faults, you can do that through the functional jobs menu.

It will pull faults from all modules regardless of whether or not you have the correct scripts. As long as you have the correct ECU files loaded in the Ediabas folder, you're good to go.
