CIC with CarPlay

ATM i'm leaning towards adding a mmi box to cic to get carplay functionality however, I cannot find any videos demonstrating what the experience is like inputting addresses in google maps/waze using the cic controller. For those who have these boxes installed on their cic, how do you like the experience of using waze/google maps? Is it a pita to enter any sort of text using the controller?

Voice is much easier. I've never tried typing on any CarPlay devices.

To add an address in either CarPlay or AA you have to use the iDrive rotary controller and input one letter at a time (same as the built-in nav).
Yes much easier using voice instead
