Idrive Retro fit

I have a 2005 e90 325i

And wanting to the the idrive CiC controller module retrofit and wondering has anyone done this on a e90 325i?

I read a couple post some have tried but couldn't get the scroll to work. And seems most people are doin this on the newer CCC units? I don't know much about.

My idrive controller is damaged and looking to update since the retro fit seems like a cheaper route for me.

Hello,

I did this retrofit on my 2006 BMW 325i in the States. I had the old CCC unit in my car and I was able to reuse my CCC controller. As far as I know, all CCC controllers works with CIC (Someone correct me if I am wrong).

The old CCC unit doesn't make much difference in the retrofit other than needing new trim to complete, as CIC uses a different trim piece. The trim is around $25 here and the part number is 51459120979 (Might be the same for you but I would double check). Best of luck.

Thanks for the reply, one question is your one a 4pin connector? As I've some photos and looks like they have 2 sets of pins to connect as mine is only a 4pin, unless this comes with new trim?

If you mean the CID power connector, it was 4 pins I think but I had to repin them in a new connector that fits the new CID display.

This video goes over the CCC to CIC retrofit installation process, and it helped me a lot:
