Front brake disc and pads for 320D
Hi guys
I had the brake pad light come on the other day on my 2010 320D. Pretty sure its the front, as I replaced the rear pads with Akebonos about 1 yr ago. Took the front left wheel off last night after work and had a look. There appears to be a lot of pad still left. The discs have a big lip on them, so it looks like replacement time. Do DBA make a slotted disc for them? Is it worth getting slotted? (they made a big difference on the Landcruiser) Akebono pads again or something else? Forgot to add, mine has the 312 mm rotors if that matters. Sorry for all the questions. Last edited by Pinarelloman; 02-18-2021 at 01:34 PM.. |

Slotted discs are only for looks so is a matter of personal preference Akebono pads are the only pad I ran on OEM brakes. Cheap, bite well and best of all dustless. IMO best pads for daily around town driving |

Last time I did my brakes I used Zimmerman rotors - have worked well, basically the same as factory. They have zinc coating, so no rust on the hats which is nice. They still look new after a couple of years.

So, I pulled it all apart today, not a big deal. Very straight forward.
Any retailers attached to this group that I should support, or just buy from the local break guy? Both front discs have a big lip on them. Will measure that later. |
