Help! How do you clean the headliner?

My car's headliner is light grey, and it's collecting some dirt.

What's the best way to you clean it? I'm afraid I'll just spread the spots if I do it incorrectly.

The worst past is under the moonroof.

Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

CG fabric cleaner
spray diluted upholstery cleaner with brush and blot clean

Warm Water MF towel, then dry with clean dry MF

Steamer if you have one,

or something you may have around the house... VERY diluted woolite (1:10 or higher) might take care of it for you!

I use invisible glass- it always turns out great and after using it on my 325i for 3 years, no spotting or discoloration.

Thanks guys for all your tips - I'll try it today and let you know the outcome. I was just afraid of trying and making it worse.

Ok - done.
Thanks guys - it was a lot easier than I had thought.

I was surprised to see the amount of dirt I collected from parts of the headliner that looked clean. I guess the grey color hides the dirt very well.

I tried MF with water. Worked like magic!
If that didn't work I was going to go more advanced, but that was not necessary.

Thanks again.
