Coding after installing TCU for bluetooth only

Quick question on what all I should code after retrofitting bluetooth. My car had bluetooth prep, so had the wiring and I just popped in a mic and antenna, bought a TCU off of here and connected everything and it works great, places and answers calls perfect, all without coding. However, I am getting the SOS with a slash through it on start it, and the exclamation point next to Drive constantly, assuming since it can't find the BMW Assist equipment which I don't want.

My question is what else should I code besides changing the VO to include $644?

I think I need to disable all SOS/Assist features.

Last question, is voice control possible with my setup with coding or just forget it? Thanks

Added it, error stays. Coded Kombi with a few other things and updated, error is still there.

BimmerGeeks will be able to explain better, but long and short of it is my TCU module wasn't even showing as an installed Module until the proper VO was added for BMW Assist. That's why +TELD did nothing, since that's only for the MULF. He added in the proper VO then deactivated BMW assist from the TCU module itself, and left hands free Bluetooth.

Thanks for all your help!!

Cool, like I said, they're good. It definitely helps knowing the correct VO options to add or delete.

Pretty sure i'm having the same issue - SOS malfunction issue

Hi

I think i'm having the same issue.

I bought a TCU from ebay and everything is working apart from that dam SOS error message every start up taunting me.

I've tried adding +TELD and default coded CAS And FRM and Kombi

I noticed multiple forums talking about editiing values in TCUM, but i go to process ECU there TCUM isn't in the list.

If you have the steps that you did to resolve this I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

Brian

Pretty sure i'm having the same issue - SOS malfunction issue - Resolved

Hi

No longer having the issue, had to add $612 and $639 to my VO.

This got the TCUM menu to show up.

After that was able to code out the sos error.

Thanks

Brian
