I-drive crash?

Hey everyone,

Today when i got into my car to go to work i noticed a few things wrong. My radio presets were gone, my equalizer settings were back to default, the nav map was on both screens, also the saved addresses were gone. My presets on the soft buttons also disapeared. Thats about all the investigating i had time to do. So what could have happened? Keep in mind im the only one who drives it, its an 08 335xi.

and see if you have any of the other known I-Drive issues. If you do, you might need to take to the dealer for software update. It might also not be software. I had issues for 5 months and only complete replacement of all components fixed it, so we know it was not software related. So maybe you are not also software related but have the same defects I had (Mine were never diagnosed).

i don't have iDrive, but i will speculate that this may also be caused by CA, if you are using a different key fob?

I am pretty sure its not CA related. CA only saves seat, mirrors, and climate settings, not I-drive related preferences.

Did you switch keys?

All of those are saved to each individual keyfob.

Doesn't CA remember radio presets?

CA remembers settings based on the keyfob in use and so does the regular keyfob.

i only take one keyfob. i too have noticed this reset issue.

things like the automatic ventilation reverting to stock settings; yet eq settings seem stable.

several times. does anyone know the current firmware revision for iDrive?

I have had the same issues. My car went in Friday to be "updated" and now the idrive system will not "take" the reprogramming. The dealer told me they tried to restart the programming process several times and it stops at the same point. Let's see how many more days (and weekends) it will be without my car...

PS - I cannot believe how underpowered the 328xi is compared to the 335i.
