exhaust upgrades
google is frustratingly limited on products and options for 335d?
Any suggestions? I am fully deleted w downpipe, etc. tempted to just cut open mufflers and weld in a solid piece through |

There are only a few exhaust upgrades for the 335d unless you go custom. I believe there is the ATM exhaust, sold my tunemyeuro and atm directly (599.99 compared to 757.99). DieselOps may still be selling theirs are you can find a used one on ebay/forums.
P and L which is a higher-priced exhaust at around $1200. Now to get to the ridiculously priced ones. These can be imported and may sound better than others, but you have the Eisenmann Sport ($2,300+) and many others are $1800+. You could also look at 335i exhaust but I believe they need to be modified slightly. Many users used to do this back in the day due to not having a 335d option. |

Honestly,
Just get a downpipe in place of the DPF(obviously), then have the SCR catalyst cut out and this welded in place of it. This is the cheapest method and in my opinion the best because the car essentially still looks stock and will perform and sound just like any aftermarket full system. If you want the car to be even louder then just have the mufflers cut out and straight pipes welded in place. https://www.cxracing.com/SS-PIP-350-45-OVAL-HORIZ |

Removing the mufflers definitely makes it louder. Just watch comparison youtube videos. |

My advice... straight pipe to a straight through resonator. I'm using dual carven r resonators on my 335d. I also have my x5d deleted now and will be removing the stock (echoey) muffler for the carven tr series resonators for a deeper sound at idle a little more exhaust sound in upper rpm but not crazy loud like my 335d gets.
I heard the straight pipe and its loud but not nearly as refined of and exhaust note as it is with resonators. With resonators it's just as loud if not louder at certain rpms, and not when it's undesirable.

P.S. You can see the flanges where front section bolts to middle section twin pipes. Last edited by BB_cuda; 05-03-2021 at 01:19 PM.. |
