Question about power
Hello everyone, I have a 2007 bmw 335i auto that I have a few questions about aftermarket parts and power.
So I am looking to be able to hit 700 in the future (Figure port injection is necessary). However I would like to upgrade my LPFP and HPFP right now. What would everyone recommend for upgraded LPFP and HPFP to have the potential of 700 when I go PI but will sustain around 500-550 prior to PI? My buddy said I should just buy the hellcat 525 and put it in my current LPFP bucket however idk. I would really like specific suggestions for this. My car is currently FBO and pushing around 400whp on e40. Can anyone make any suggestions on reaching my power goals? I would like to do everything right and once. Thoughts on the motiv flex fuel? Thank you and have a great evening! |

Do a stage 3 LPFP upgrade. You will probably need to upgrade the EKP fuel pump controller, you will burn the oem one up trying to run pumps that pull big amps. Look into the BPM4 controller by EOSpeed....about $1,000.
Leave the HPFP stock if you are going to go to PI. I've heard the Motive Reflex PI controller and the BMP manifold setup is the way to go for PI. Get ready to spend some money upgrading the transmission.....the ZF 6HP21 won't last long at 700hp.....stock they are rated at around 300ft/lbs of tq. Also, you will need to install a true LSD rear end if you want to put that kind of power to the ground. Also, what turbo(s) are you going to run? I don't think most people realize how much it actually costs to get 700hp out of an N54...while keeping it somewhat reliable. At that power level, you probably need to start thinking about upgrading motor internals. I'm definitely no expert, but the guys I see that are actually running 700hp have sunk a fortune into their cars. |

Most high powered n54s are manual with an upgraded clutch.

If that's the case (though I have no plans to yet) if I were going for big power, it'd be (motiv or x clutch) twin disk + lightweight flywheel (not sure on what i'd pick yet tbh) all the way, if looking to keep it a little cheaper, I think the spec twin disk + flywheel kit would be good for the money.

There seems to be a lot of people who are "going to build a 700hp 335i"....that never really get anywhere after they figure out the time/money actually involved in the project. |

Just curious, but if money is no object why not go with a single turbo?I can't really see the reason why you wouldn't want to go single turbo if money isn't an object. Everything about them just sounds more reliable, able to make bigger power, less maintenance, etc...
Just wondering... |

My weekend cars have always been TT. I don’t like the lag of traditional single turbo setups. Just my personal preference.

Since you are asking about fuel and money is no object, contact the guys at EOSPEED. There parts and customer service is top notch. If you have easy access to e85 fuel stations then motivs flex fuel kit is something you'll want.

You'll need built internals for a reliable 700whp on twin turbos. That's enough to start bending rods. Single turbo you can run that power with a stock engine
