Was a grad student forced to live on the cheap for 6 years. Graduated and got a job with good pay, but never really stopped living like a grad student. I save and invest 50% of my income, own my house and pay for my cars in cash. Works well over the long haul.

I only have two years of college,however, in my field you can make $ 17.50-25.00 hr. to start, and usually top out in the mid 30's , plus benefits ,typically the workweek is 48 hrs only, and like someone said,if you take care of your money,and invest properly, and don't try to buy every new toy you see,you should be ok later in life.

i'm a young person interested in becoming a "baller" by the time i'm 30. i would like to get to know anyone who is interested in doing the same.

so given that, since there are some ppl here (such as myself) who aren't yet in a satisfactory financial situation, i'm sure we all have something to offer to everyone here, whether it be friendship, fun, or pure business, it sounds like this thread could become a new beggining to a great success story. so to start... i'm from san diego, i'm 23, and i have have some friends who have connections w/ china and vietnam. let's be friends!

You do realize to be a patent agent you have to have a bachelors degree...

And IPO just means initial public offering, and most companies hire financial advisors and accountants along with lawyers to do the work since its not easy and you cant screw it up.

Not really I know several people who make less than $50k a year and drive 80K+ cars... The only thing is they dont have any money incase of an emergency or a retirement fund. Its not hard to spend $14k a year leasing an $80k car.

Many people, probably like yourself, feel that they don't know much about the stock market and therefore considering pure luck and stay away. Unfortunately, NOT investing in the stock market or a similar type of investment vehicle hurts you in the long run. Average savings and money markets do NOT outpace inflation, and therefore when you are older and do wish to retire, the wealth you have amassed will be worth a lot less.

You may not have to day trade or invest heavily, but building and allocating a proper portfolio is almost a necessity in today's world, where markets are intertwined globally, and actions thousands of miles away affect our economy and therefore our savings.

Actually puts you more in the top 1.5% of America.. If you make more than $103,000 you are in the top 10%. And we all know the top 10% of America pays 70% of the taxes.

if your motives for knowing these people are impure then it won't work
listen, guys at the top, or who are connected right can tell why you are their friends...

if you are with them just to use them, they won't let you... if they are where they are it is because they can tell the difference...
when you try to force something, it won't work...
let it flow... go out, mingle with the right crowd, be cool with everyone... and eventually you will meet the right people... you gotta build your bridges
once you meet your first right person, if he takes a shining to you, and you hang with them for the right reasons, they'll take care of you...

you also need to realize though that even your own friends are good for something.. you gotta find the potential of every one of your friends and harness it...

a good general uses the brave, the cowardly and the fools.
