TPMS Disable BMWhat/Carly for BMW

I just wanted to let everyone know that I emailed BMWhat/Carly asking if TPMS disable was available or will be for future updates and they said there wasn't enough interest to add the feature. I figured that a lot of people would have asked by now so if you're interested please email them and ask to have this added.

TPMS can't just be coded out. The RDA controller needs to be physically disconnected (or have its fuse pulled). Only then can you take it out of the VO and disable its codes.

FWIW, I was able to not only disable TPMS, but to activate FTM (Flat Tire Monitoring using the ABS sensors) in its place on my E84 using NCS Expert. Far from dumb, this gives me the same safety as TPMS without having to bother with sensors in my tires. It works perfectly well.

This will most likely never happen.

It is against US Federal Law to remove, tamper with, or disable a vehicle equipped with a factory TPMS system.

Easy disclaimer "off road use only" etc. I've done this on plenty of other vehicles and am still alive to tell the tale shocking as that may be.

Not entirely true. The federal law prohibits a dealer or tire shop from knowingly tampering, disabling the light on vehicles. A state can enact a law to keep an owner from doing the same. I am not sure if any states have done that though.

This. It's not just coding, you have to pull the plug on the RDA. Pulling the fuse usually leads to other issues though so it's not always recommended.

The only models I've had to disconnect the actual RDC module on was models with iDrive.

The fuse for the RDC module is shared with the iDrive controller.

Otherwise, I've only had to pull the fuse in other models.

Makes sense. As far as I know, that fuse disables the idrive controller for some absurd reason.

Yea that fuse sends power to the iDrive controller......no power, no input.

so i can just pull that use and be good with no error lights?
