I am out of the time frame as well, had my water pump & thermostat replaced at 100k miles (about 2.5 years ago) and then it started leaking again so I replaced it myself at 110k miles!

First time I was away for the summer and my mom was driving the car so it was done by a shop and I noticed they reused the old water pump bolts but used the updated water pump version.

I wouldn't think that those bolts would have anything to do with the premature failure of the pump itself but it was the only thing I noticed was off
