anyone only just upgrade their shocks

I was looking at my car and honestly the ride height doesnt bother me so much, actually the more i look at it im more concvinced the most id do is dinan for minimum drop and mostly improving handling.

I was thinking about just bistein B8, im sure would transform car over the shot OEM shocks.

Anyone replace just shocks?

i did, my car scrapes over speed bumps anyway. '09 E92 335i, I just installed Koni Special Active struts with new mounts, hardware, and bump stops before Xmas. Stock stuff was shot, shot, shot after 150K miles in the metro DC area.

I have B4’s on e60 and B6’s on Z3M. While way better than OEM I can’t tell much difference in normal driving between the 4 and 6. During aggressive driving, I can tell. Will do B6 on our 335.

Absolutely, I installed Koni Yellows on my 328xi with stock shocks. I live in Vermont and with our snowy winters I wanted to keep reasonable ground clearance while also improving handling. I don't regret it one bit - the Koni's made a huge handling improvement and ride quality is still very good. I tighten them up in the Summer and have them on full-soft for winter driving over the busted roads and that has worked perfectly so far.

B8s are for lowering springs. They will not be valved correctly for stock springs. You can use them with the Dinan springs.

B4s are OE replacements.

B6 is a slight upgrade from B4s in performance but they are valved for stock springs.

B6 on stock springs on an e91 here.

I have no complaints, but not much of a basis for comparison to anything else on the car. (originals were totally totally totally blown when I got it).

I thought it was pretty neat having inverted front struts for an OE replacement.

Koni Special Active on stock springs have served me well. Much better ride control without compromising handling.

I went with B8 all round on my e93 and kept the M sport springs - Love the ride and the grip. I`m an aggressive driver and feel its a spot on cross between comfort and performance.

Full disclosure, i bought the car with blown shocks - so don`t know if it can be even better than i`ve done and i`ve not ridden in any others E series to compare.

Inverted shock tube on a B6.

And a sticker of the Nordschleife.

Put a smile on my face.

B8's on Stock springs in my E91 325xi. Extremely spirited driving. Love the way the car handles as does my wife.
It is a little on the stiff side. However, everyone who has driven it says it just feels like an amazing driving vehicle (of course it is no race car). I would probably go B8's again. When I purchased the B8's I had planned to install lowering springs but have come to like it too much the way it is. They do really stiffen it up.

Of course! Imagine the improvement over the stock garbage shocks! It's how it should come from factory

06 325xi. Bought car with 149xxx for $1000 with a bad crank sensor. did springs/shocks around 160ish. Fast forward to 186xxx, was over the b6/hr set up. Loose feeling. Sloppy into corners and what not. Just did fortune auto coilovers yesterday. Love it, getting super low shock insets for front and 4in hyper o springs to go lower and ruin axles. I’m a sick fuck though and like a stiff suspension to daily drive. Coils well worth it for adjustability and fine tuning of how you want your car to drive. Broadway statics were on my e36 M3 16k/18k spring rates. Haven’t had a set up yet that drove as comfortable as that did, while being stiff

I did the KW V3s, I could go much lower. I've got a finger gap and running Michelin AS 3 255 on all four corners on 17x9 rims. Love the way it looks. Maybe just a little spacer on the rear and it would be perfect. Anyway I went that way because the spring choices were not great for the x drive and I wanted more drop than the dinan springs provide. I also didn't want to scrape, so the adjustability of the coil overs was appealing in case going lower didn't work out well.
