I'd prefer slotted anyways. Drilled has been known to crack over time.
The biggest difference is that drilled is usually lighter and disperses heat a lot better. Also, due to the nature of drilled rotors, they are always cleaning the pads surface so there is an increase in bite/pedal feel when you are braking. |

yes there is less contact area with drilled rotors and only TUV approved rotors should be used to prevent cracking which could kill you.
so for track - yeah drilled or dimpled for road warriors - slotted is fine for normal people who go fast now and then who want the maximum contact patch - plain is great. of course there is bling factor and mercedes is more about bling these days than anything so i guess they look more p.i.m.p.

Drilled are not worth it for a street car. MB is doing it mostly for show. Personally as others have said I like slotted better. And even then for a street car I would rather have plain.
Less noise, more contact area, saves brake pads.
