Brakes on C350 and E90/92

I saw the C350 has the front brake rotors drilled.
The e90/92 are not drilled.
Any difference in stopping power?

I'd prefer slotted anyways. Drilled has been known to crack over time.

The biggest difference is that drilled is usually lighter and disperses heat a lot better. Also, due to the nature of drilled rotors, they are always cleaning the pads surface so there is an increase in bite/pedal feel when you are braking.

yes there is less contact area with drilled rotors and only TUV approved rotors should be used to prevent cracking which could kill you.

so for track - yeah drilled or dimpled
for road warriors - slotted is fine
for normal people who go fast now and then who want the maximum contact patch - plain is great.

of course there is bling factor and mercedes is more about bling these days than anything so i guess they look more p.i.m.p.

i just went to the dealership to look at the new m3 brakes, they are drilled AND slotted...and lot of brake dust. They turn orange/yellow.

Turning yellow is due to rusting and happens on all calipers not just drilled/slotted.

Garage List
Drilled are not worth it for a street car. MB is doing it mostly for show. Personally as others have said I like slotted better. And even then for a street car I would rather have plain.

Less noise, more contact area, saves brake pads.
