The Prius is a $13k car with a $12k power plant.
You would be far better off buying a Corolla or Civic which gets 30-40MPG and save $12k plus battery exchange down the road. It makes no sense to buy a $25k car to save $100 per month if that much. It is like buying a $60k X5 with a 6 cyl engine for the sole purpose of saving a few MPG. You just spent $60k. My point being the cost of the vehicle has to factor into the cost per mile to drive. The Prius is a good marketing gimick. Load it up with 4 people at the mileage drops to 30-40 MPG due to lack of power. I never seen the mileage vary so much with a car.

Montana went to limits not because they wanted the money but because of a court case. Some knucklehead in a Trans-Am was ticketed for driving "too fast for conditions" (100 mph in a thunderstom) and fought the ticket. The courts said if the state ddn't have any posted limits, they couldn't cite anyone for speeding. |

I finally saw some lady in a Prius actually driving the way you should be, defensively and not scared of the road. She blasted off from a stop light, and was driving slightly faster than I was. She even turned left down a side street at a nice quick speed, not slow as to get plowed into.
