Hissing noise by vacuum canister
Hi all, I'm trying to figure out this noise coming from the engine.
I don't have any error codes, boost comes on strong and stays strong, all vacuum hoses are silicone, vtto inlets, vargas stage 2+ hybrid turbos, csf radiator, vrsf 7" step intercooler, cobb AP protune. Any ideas or I'm thinking too much... thx. |

Just an update, this hissing noise was related to a slight crack on the bottom nipple of one vacuum canister. I know there's a bunch of threads about vacuum canister delete or not but I felt best to stick to original setup so picked one up from a parts car and replaced it, all good now.

To add to what Luis561 said, a 30FF code doesn't necessarily show up from a small boost leak, it depends on how severe the leak is. Last edited by Saif2018; 06-03-2021 at 04:12 AM.. |

30FF triggers when you're down 4psi for ~4s or more. This would require a major vacuum leak, since the only use for vacuum on this car is wastegate control and BOV operation (which doesn't even run off the same source as the boost solenoids, etc.)
