Torque top nut on a yellow koni sport?

Really silly question because I cannot ... for the life of me understand how this would even work, so how do you torque these down w/o spinning the shaft?

I tried that, and it wanted a drink and to go back to my place. I'm married, and I spent all my money on this car, it already knows that. Damn nerve of this car...

You generally would use this tool and hold shaft with Allen key and torque top nut. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-schwaben...SABEgLI_PD_BwE

Ah, you're right, now I remember. I bought a pass through wrench set and allen key at the top. But that's a good tool

this one has a lock washer and on the strut head has a smaller bit on the top. Grr.

Usual auto parts places have these I'm guessing?

so, short answer on that last post - no. 4 (usual suspects) autoparts stores I just got a confused, "whazzat?" look.

In other news, it's not that much torque and I was able to torque it down w/o the special socket but when it shows up I'm going to double check it anyway

Allen won’t work on Koni yellow as they adjustable.

I see, no experience with Koni yet, only on the Bilstein.

So then what is the difference in holding it?

Must have full opening drive through sockets.

this set was recommended to me when I did the suspension on my E92

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I used Koni Special Active not yellow as I have crap roads here. That set was crucial for a couple parts of that job. However, it's been years since I installed a set of Yellows, and for the life of me I can't remember how I held the shaft installing them. Maybe just tightened the top nuts when down on the ground?

This has a socket designed to fit the top of that strut shaft. My Koni Active had a regular allen socket, but these appear to be different.

^ That's the set that I bought and am very happy with it
