After an unusual chain of events here the past few days, I would go back to last weekend and hang the spare security camera that was sitting on our kitchen counter waiting to be installed.....

We are OK, albeit still a bit rattled. There was a newsworthy incident in our otherwise quiet/sleepy neighborhood a few days ago, and I don't want to say anything more right now because of the ongoing criminal investigation.....

With what?
Cash from the present? That would be thought of as a poor attempt at forgery in the past. Electronic funds? Bitcoin? No bueno. Gold? How are you going to carry/transport enough, much less provide for security/storage? Stocks/bonds? Same problem as modern cash. This time travel stuff is harder than you think- it's the small details that keep tripping me up every time.

It depends on a few things, is it go back/forward and you're stuck there 'til death or can you come and go at your leisure?
I'd really like to go back maybe a billion years or so. Some time before all the animals we have fossil record of to see if there was some large life we don't know about. but this brings with it risks of what would I need for PPE to survive? The money thing seems like everyone would do ... Back far enough to see what Antarctica looks like with no ice. I don't want to influence or change any of history. I'd come back to a place I don't recognize and wouldn't belong in, not that I feel I belong here anyways. It would be nice to see what a sky without any light pollution looks like. So some time before electricity. And I'd bring my phone to take a picture. That would at least work. And speaking of things that may not work, how would this machine be powered? maybe the best answer is to go forward in time to better the tech/reliability of it before we go back and it breaks down and now I'm F'd. |
