Finally I found this! This will come very handy...
I will be removing my front bumper this weekend to install the HID fog lights...

I got the hang of the headlight washer removal and reattachment. A great little trick too.
Took mine off and then on no sweat. Much easier without the wheels on |

According to some other DIYs I saw on the net, it is sufficient to remove like only 3 bolts in each wheel well in order to pull away the wheelarch lining and get access to those hidden 2 bolts. This DIY requires removing like 6 bolts in the left well and 10 bolts in the right well (the same 6 plus 4 more for the oil cooler grille). Is it really necessary to remove all these bolts?
For example, this DIY - http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16992 - claims that only 2 bolts need to be removed in each wheel well before we can pull aside wheelarch lining. The bumper removal guide at umnitza also says that only two bolts have to be removed on the fender liner. (Interestingly, this gude says that the hoidden bolts are 8mm, while umnitza guide says that they are 10mm). Last edited by AndreyT; 09-23-2011 at 01:46 AM.. |

would anyone not reccomend taking a paper towel and maybe water and wiping down the intercooler/ air ducts if they are dirty, or maybe just a dry paper towel. i was thinking about doing that but idk if it would be bad to do or not...thanks

Awesome write up - thank you
Question - do you need to remove the entire bumper in order to take the lower side grills out? Or is this something I could do with the bumper on by simply pushing down on the tabs that hold it on? Thanks |
