Flange sealant.....options?
OK, so I am getting my built block back together after a long hiatus and a pile of new parts sitting and waiting.
I picked up the Loctite 193140 kit from FCP Euro Unfortunately I picked it up over a year ago, and upon inspection, the Loctite says best if used by Jan 2019. So I'm now very hesitant to actually use it. Obviously too late to return. So I have also seen other people use this kit below....which I'll be a bit miffed about if it is OK as it comes with an applicator nozzle and the plunger built in for about $25 vs the other Loctite option is $63 plus the tool for well over $100. Will this work just as well? Seems to be a bit of a mystery on flange sealants and what people have used on the N54 bedplate. This other official BMW flange sealant seems to be for the exact same purpose but at a fraction of the cost. Thoughts? |

Just use Ultra Grey & let it cure 24 hours before start up. |
