BMW - Trunk Wont Open
Folks,
I have a 2007 BMW 328i. The problem i ran into was, i am currently stuck with an A6E2 Code from INPA (Central-locking drive, rear lid/split door, right) 1) My Trunk wont open using the Key Fob/Interior Button/Exterior Button - Only the Key opens it 2) Power has been shut down to my drivers side brake light on the trunk 3) Power has also been shut off to my license plate light. The code keeps coming back everytime i reset it. Things i have done to see if it will improve the situation 1) Checked the bulbs nothing wrong with them 2) Replaced Trunk Actuator The Funny Part is, when i remove Fuse 53. The circuit gets powered up but the trunk & license plate lights are very dim (seems to be in low voltage mode) When Fuse 53 is inserted, there is no power to the circuit. Any help would be appreciated!! |

Thanks Ctuna.
I resolved this issue today. I found out the root cause for the problem. It was a severed wire on the Body - Trunk Harness. The Rubber Piping that protects the wires from the Body of the Car to the trunk, had one of the ground (Brown Wires) ripped. I soldered these back and everything turned back to normal. |

Read the links in entry 2.
To open the trunk the first link.(in entry 2) this usually happens when people are changing the battery and accidentally close the trunk. If this is not the case the second thing is the battery is dead and you should try to charge it from the jump points under the hood. If you have broken wires no easy or tricky solutions. There are many threads on this in the general section. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=986670 Last edited by ctuna; 07-23-2021 at 12:35 AM.. |

Not if the wire that goes to the trunk latch relay is broken inside
the trunk or along the way . You never said you you got into this position and if you checked the battery voltage. (at the jump point under the hood) What were the circumstances that led to this? You need to come up with and action plan and measure and try some things. If you can open the trunk I would look at the wiring. Go to Bimmerfest and ask George he likes to give extended technical info. Last edited by ctuna; 07-23-2021 at 07:26 PM.. |
