CG Clay Block - better than clay?
Well... simple as that. I have few new cars (1-5months) old and i would like to keep them clean as possible and i was thinking of ordering products from ChemicalGuys and i came up with this product http://www.chemicalguys.com/CLAY_BLO..._block_kit.htm
Is this better than "traditional" claybar ? |

I think calling one clay block better than others may be splitting hairs.
I use the Megs claybars, always give me great results. Let us know how it works. |

I got it few days ago and today i tried it first time. I was a bit confused first because the Clayblock has two different sides harder and the softer elastofoam side. I sprayed CG Lube to the surface and to the block and gently started rubbing the surface with the harder side. Amazing how much hidden dirt there was on my 2month old car which i tend to wash few times a week. I began to hear some noise and feel little grabbing i added for some extra lube and give it a few back and fourth and the grabbing and noise stopped. It was silky again! I was already washed my car twice with dish soap and autoshampoo to remove old layers of jetseal and CG 50/50.
I have to say that i am very very satisfied with this product. All the hidden dirt came of and the paint is silky again nomore rough points. We tried to spot any minor swirls or scrathes or any damage inflicted by this clay-treatment with my GF and my dad put there weren't any. I noticed that you can get a small bucket of water and dip your block there time to time and free some contaminants so there isn't a slight possibility to scratch your paint. Then lube it again and you are good to go. Definetely an easier to use product than classic claybars. Please reply if you have any questions i will gladly answer.. I noticed that there isn't so much information about this clayblock on the internet. |
