I was hoping something as simple as a magnetic drain plug wouldn't be beyond them, but after ordering on 01/Aug and getting an estimated 12/Aug ship date, it's now estimated to be 26/Aug (note that it's not a committed ship date). Given what I've read here, I'm cancelling the order. And not planning to come back for more.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Got my lsd and carbon/alcantara shifter panel separately from ecs.
No problems at all. Good prices, better phone service and parts availability than others. Was I just lucky? |

ECS bought turner years ago - their sites are exactly the same, just reskinned. I haven't had any bad experiences with ECS, but I've only ever bought oil, filters, and tools from them. Not trying to discount your experiences by any means... I've had my share of bad experiences from supposedly reputable vendors as well

Normally I'd order from FCP if their prices aren't significantly higher. But if not ECS/Turner then who else sells BMW parts with good service?

They're all taking longer. Every industry is understaffed. Shipping takes 2-5x as long as it used to.
Nothing wrong with ECS or their products. The turner stuff all still exists and is still high quality. I exclusively buy from FCP, ECS or Bimmerworld, whoever is offering me free shipping and have never had any issues.

I've ordered several times from ECS and I only had one issue, which I'll describe below, that I contacted them about and never got a response. I guess they don't give a hoot.
Last year I ordered this kit and serviced my DCT. The only issue, as you can see on the kit description, is that it lists the filter as a DSG. I thought it was a misprint. That, is not the correct filter, and it's almost identical except for the tiny lip on the rear. That lip prevented me from inserting the filter fully in order to seal the cap and locking ring. It was a major pain to deal with but I finally used a dremel to cut down the lip and was able to get it installed. I hoped that they would fix this issue, but here you can see it is unchanged. |

Turner has been ECS for many years. I've bought from both and never had any issues. Even email replies have been prompt and clear.
