Weekly soap?

I bought some CG CWG, but I've read that it's a bit harsh on the wax. Is there a soap you guys recommend for weekly washes that isn't so harsh on wax?

CW clear is just as strong as CWG (OP is talking about) it is just missing the glossing agent....... Duragloss is pretty good too...I have tried it a couple times...

If diluted properly, you'll be fine with CWG or CWC.

You could dilute it for sure...I know alot of detailers do that, I just prefer to use a soap with proper dilution (300 to 1, 400 to 1 whatever) that will not strip LSP....car shampoo is not really expensive (compared to waxes) and I personally have different soaps for different uses....

Agreed. So OP, here are you options discussed that don't require any special dilution and won't strip your LSP.

Megs Gold Glass
DG 901
Poorboys SSS
CG Maxi Suds

I'll throw in Meguiars NXT to the list as well.

EDIT: NXT is too strong. Should not be on this list.

Nice thanks! I think I have some Megs already, but maybe I'll try some CG maxi suds next time I place an order. I just got done with 2 coats of Jetseal + 1 coat of 5050 and I don't want all this hard work to go to waste by using the wrong soap.

I have always been a fan of Zymol products. Their car wash is great. Dont need to use much, does a great cleaning job, and tends to leave my wax untouched (also Zymol.)

CWC won't strip your wax? I have Maxi Suds II and it works great! can use a hose to bead the water off after wash. I love it. Hows the CWC?

CWC is great, and I use it for all my detail jobs and detail jobs only.

CWC is CWG without the gloss agent, so in theory it has more cleaning power than CWG. Both CWC and CWG will strip wax if not diluted correctly, but they are still soo strong that I would not recommend using them for maintenance washes. When you dilute them to the point where they will not strip wax, I find that they are not that "luby" or "soapy" which is the most important part of the wash. It just feels like you are washing the car with water almost because the CWG or CWC is soo diluted.

In the end I would just save myself the time, money, and worries by using a less strong soap. Max Suds II works great, and so does Extreme Wash and Gloss, but really any OTC soap will be just fine.

I have 3 car shampoos that I use

-CG Citrus Wash & Gloss
-Duragloss 901
-Meg's Hyperwash

For maintainence I use the 901 most frequently and for details, I use the CWG or Hyperwash in strong dilution.

I bought a bunch of this stuff that was on sale at Kragen before I bought the M ... anyone use this stuff? I just want to make sure it's not too strong for waxes. I think I'll get some maxi suds regardless though ... I need to place an order anyway.

Meguiar's Gold Class is what I use, and I usually wash my car at least twice a week.

i am using klasse sealant right now. just applied last weekend, and the wash doesnt seem to harm the finish
