Thanks thats what I was curious about. The only thing that appeals was his normal "D" mode sounds better for Daily. However that is not worth extra wear and tear (if thats true.)
Also not crazy about the fact you need to use V9 with his tune. I dont mind V9 but I like to bounce back and forth between 9 and 7 and not be restricted to one OTS.

I've also found a little heal toe finesse on downshifts helps with the Xhp Stage 3 maps.

Can you verify you followed the proper refill procedures including the adding of oil during operation?

I've heard mixed things about resetting transmission adaptations and how you may not want to do them. If your refill procedure is confirmed correct and you're 100% sure you installed everything correctly, I'd just drive it for a while and let the adaptations finalize. You may want to hold off on the XHP flash until then, it's not a means to fix transmission malfunctions. Same way you wouldn't flash MHD to fix your engine not running right

Transmission adaptations should not have been reset, XHP states this themselves.

How many miles did you drive for adaptations to set before driving it hard?

Which mode and what are your downshift settings?

Shift map settings in custom module?

Yeah, same here, just a light throttle on downshifts makes it fast and smooth.

This. I have no idea what everyone loves to reset adaptations on everything without even having the slightest idea as to what it does, and/or why they are doing it.

MHD, ZF, and everyone else who specializes in ZF transmissions will tell you NEVER RESET ADAPTATIONS....unless you do a full rebuilt. The transmissions will relearn the setting on it's own, resetting them only makes things hard on the transmission because the settings and values are so far out of whack.

Was it only when the clutch packs are changed that adaptations supposed to be reset?

Yep...ZF, MHD, and the few shops I've talked to that specialize in ZF transmissions have all said that unless you are changing internal hard parts (clutch packs), don't mess with the adaptations.....the transmission will relearn on it's own.

Update:

After doing a complete transmission service which included, new lifeguard 6 fluid, oil pan, tube seals, bridge seal, solenoids, and mechatronic connector sleeve, the downshift from 2 -> 1 in manual mode is MUCH smoother now. No where near as jerky as before. Gear changes are smoother and faster now too.

Also remember that it's going to take 200-500 miles of driving for the adaptations to adjust ......and it smooths out even more.
