Foam Applicator Pads: Do you reuse them?

Just wondering if you reuse your foam applicator pads for sealants etc. If so, do you clean them after you've used them once? Waxy pads don't seem to like water too much.

Let them soak in dish detergent or APC, then throw them into the washer.

Ha ha , good one. I thought you meant dishwasher. LOL. Correct me if I'm wrong. I thought dishwashing detergent weaken the glue on the hook and loop backing material?

I pressure wash my buffing pads. Nothing leaves them cleaner BTW, softer, or newer looking.

I've been tossing mine. After reading the replies I might try to wash them next time, though. I didn't realize I could clean them up enough to use them again.

I rinse them in the sink first and hand squeeze all the excess product out. I then toss it in the washer. I was surprised at how well it's been cleaning out. I used to think I'd be going through foam pads like crazy.

The only one's I've had trouble washing have been ones covered in collinite. I found dawn power dissolver to work excellent on them though.

GEEZ Jared, must be nice, I have to reuse mine so I just use Dawn dishwashing soap w/hot water and they usually come out like new. The microfiber pads are a little harder to clean. Hey, are you no longer living in Folsom?

Ya I stopped with the MF ones due to it was $$$adding up.

I actually live in a small gated community called Rancho Murieta. I just put sac because more people know where that is.

Both I usually apply an AIO or a sealant with a mf applicator. For waxing I always use a foam applicator.

+1 I never really thought about it, but I've always picked a terry applicator for sealant, a foam applicator for wax. It just seems right.

no, laundry detergent is pretty strong soap so it'd pretty much wipe out all the wax off the applicator and separate the wax particles enough that they will be really separated in the soapy water
