Driving without exhaust tips

I'm sending my OEM exhaust tips to get powdercoated with matte black thermal ceramic finish (same finish they use on exhaust headers) because I hate the silver look of OEM. Chrome ones BMW sells are not that good-looking either, so i decided to black mine out.

So my question is: Is there any downside of driving without exhaust tips for a week?

I highly doubt you'll get any trouble, if anything people will think its awkward that a BMW is missing its exhaust tips... Are you talking about the exhaust tip covers? Or the whole tip assemblies, meaning that you had them removed (cut) at some point?

If its just the covers, you are completely fine, this is assuming your original junk metal tips are still there

Yeah, absolutely nothing wrong with driving around without tips. As long as your cats and mufflers are still there, tips make absolutely no difference at all.

why would taking off a chrome finishing tip that wasn't even present on pre 2008 model cars cause a problem? It's cosmetic.

you won't get pulled over by anyone...except maybe by some folks who know the 335 car saying "your tips fell off!"

don't slice your finger off when washing your car!!!

My tips got stolen one night a long time ago. I was bummed out but life went on. Well a week later I was washing my car and wasn't paying attention while reaching down and washing the bottom of the back bumper. Usually I wash the tips quickly while I'm down there, well this time my fingers slipped inbetween the crappy metal exhasut pipes and the plastic bumper cut out and the edge of the metal pipes sliced my first three fingers across the knuckles. I got blood all over the place and it hurt like a bitch!!!
