Has anyone completed this retrofit? I'm seriously considering it but I think the hardest part would be sourcing the parts and knowing where to install the control module. The radar and the wheel stock are likely easy.

FYI this is standard cruise control (not adaptive)
3' E90 335i Dynamic cruise control retrofit http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=03_2073 It is possible to retrofit option SA544 by replacing the instrument cluster, the entire switch module and the steering column trim. Code retrofit with Software Service Station (SSS) via "Retrofit CIP" path. Last edited by fatjoez; 04-11-2016 at 11:25 PM.. |

Hi guys, I have been searching for info about this mod for a long time.
Is there any progress...? I am also willing to start working on this but my main concern is where to find stalk with acc option. Is there a chance just to install CC stalk from e60? |

Hi,
A bit of a long story here, sorry its on a long running thread - I have a later e91 323i (2010) which being a 6cyl came standard with $544 Dynamic Cruise. I do a LOT of hwy k's so I would like the full $541 Active Cruise. (which I have on my older E66 and love). Being slightly later my car did not have an LDM, the cruise was all built into the DSC etc. So, I did some research, thought - I can do this, and sourced most of the parts. First to note is my car seemed later than the wiring diagrams I have. I first installed the ACC sensor, fed it the appropriate signals (GND,+12V, ACC Wake Up & PT-CAN). This worked, as the sensor heated in icy temperatures, and I can log into it using NCS & INPA. I then installed the LDM (from the same donor car) giving it too the appropriate signals (GND,12V,PT-CAN Wake Up & PT-CAN), once again, all logs in OK At that point, I changed my VO from $544 to $541. I also changed all the 'ACC' references in units such as the KOMBI & CIC to 'aktiv'. All ready for the first run, I engaged CC and it all seemed to work as it always did (no ACC action), after a while i looked down to see my speed holding OK, but my cruise set marker darting around spontaneously. over a few days I played around a bit more and determined that the traffic in front had no affect on the markers behavior. I haven't changed my stalk yet, I figure if I can get the cruise to work, then I'll spend the last dollars to finish the job. I noted that the wiring diagram also showed the PT-CAN connected to the NFRM (so the cruise knows when you are indicating to change lanes), but my car had no wiring on the assigned pins, so I wired that into the bus too. The ACC still did not work. (lots of errors though - mostly PT-CAN errors, can post if it would help) My car was then due for a service, so in it goes to BMW. On my way back to collect it, I am told that my FRM module 'died' when they connected their factory tools. I was advised it can happen when owners change parameters in module [who would have done that ] - some robust product hey? BMW Australia replaced & coded the NFRM under good will. When I finally picked my car up and drove home, engaging the CC - I got an error 'Active Cruise Faulty - Keep Your Distance'. So now I have no cruise control. I changed all my coding back to original, VO and all, but my simple cruise control still will not work. I still want ACC, but now would be happy to get back DCC. Any ideas where I should look next? I have my pre/post TRC files, but I think the issue is bigger than just searching for 'ACC' and making it aktiv This weekend I'll check the wiring to the FRM, see what carnage BMW may have caused! |

you need to disconnect LDM, ACC sensor and code all modules (kombi, nfrm, dsc) according new VO

So I finally got back to having the just 544 dynamic cruise - not really sure how in the end - wasn't quite as easy as changing the vo & unplugging the LDM, but resetting dsc seemed to get it going. So now back to the ACC. I have changed my VO to 541, and I have put VIN's into the LDM & ACC. I have coded the KOMBI as much as I can see. But I still have no ACC operation, just normal cruise with braking. There is no ACC indication in the instrument cluster when cruise is in operation. The CIC ocasionally shows a cruise control failure, and the set speed marker darts up and down, like its a comms bus issue. I have 2 faults showing, D02F LDM: nominal torque request, D026 LDM : wheel torque, brake (E1). I haven't coded anything into DSC yet as I don't see anything obvious. Ive attached my DSC,KOMBI,LDM,ACC .TRCs
Back to my instrument cluster, I can make the car/ACC indicator light via INPA etc, but I noticed that realoem has different P/N for 544 DCC & 541 ACC, does anyone know if that would be stopping me from progressing? |

Hi JGB, did you have any luck since your last post? I have recently started to get back into coding and updates on my car and this caught my interest again

the part you have circled in the second picture is one piece that goes into the switch block circled in the first picture. you can't disconnect it without breaking it.
