As for restaurants...some of the high-end downtown business district restaurants are closed on Sundays. But there are a million others to choose from. You can use this site to help choose: http://www.torontolife.com/restaurants/ Like beer? go here: http://www.thebiermarkt.com/ they have decent food as well. There's a Blue Jays baseball game today at 1 pm. Go to the Rogers Center (aka Skydome) and get tickets. This is going on right now: http://www.luminato.com/festival/eng/ It's an art and music festival. There are the usual attractions of CN Tower, city tours, Royal Ontario Museum. The Distillery District has some art gallerys, shops and restaurants and is close by: http://www.thedistillerydistrict.com/frameset.html This place is always fun and is downtown: http://www.thedocks.com/ It's a huge bar/entertainment complex with a driving range, pool, miniputt, beach volleyball etc. Want beaches and people scenery?...you can take a ferry over to Toronto Island (the Hanlan's point area is primarily a gay beach though...so stick to Centre Island and Ward's Island unless you're gay). The ferry leaves from beside the Westin Harbour Castle hotel at Bay St. and Queen's Quay. http://www.toronto.ca/parks/island/ Lot's of golf courses in and around Toronto. http://www.toronto.com/guide/golf http://www.toronto.ca/parks/golf/index.htm North of the city (about half hour drive) is Canada's Wonderland if you like roller coasters and the such: http://www.canadaswonderland.com That ought to keep you busy for a while. |

Eat at Canoe. The food is awesome, the view at night is phenomenal.
Also, if you get a chance to go to Trevor's Kitchen, try the beef cheek nachos. So good. Seriously. Burrito Boyz may be the best burritos in the city, but may not be up to the best of SoCal. The nightlife on College Street is a bit more laid back and lounge-ish, if you want warehouse size clubs check out Richmond St. Beyond that I think RBP covered it pretty well. |

One other thing you may not know about Toronto is taht there is a huge crackdown underway on "street racing", with street racing including exceeding the posted limit by 50km/h or more. If caught, your car (even a rental) is impounded for 7 days. So watch your speed carefullly.

Check out the Adult Entertainment on Yonge street too. Brass Rail FTW!!!
BTW check out Niagara Falls too. It's only about an 1h15min drive from downtown. |

Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions. Toronto's been pretty fun. I checked out the Zoo, LuminaTO, Distillary District, the docks (which had great weather at the time), and Circa night club along with another one. I still have 2 more days to go here and I'll be at niagra for one of them. Any more suggestions out there? One more thing, are there any late eats in Toronto? We were crusing around at 4am looking for some fast food places and everything is closed.
Cheers! |
