CIC VO coding on pre-CIC vehicle

First, let me explain what I have, a 2008 M3 that originally had the L7 Professional radio.
I have since added a CIC system with the Individual Audio system.

I was wondering if it was possible after changing the VO of a vehicle temporarily, and changing the build date in order to add features to the CIC system, such as BMW Apps, Internet.... that the vehicle would not normally support. Then reset the CIC to pick up these changes to the VO (as done in NCS Expert, but not saved, no FA_WRITE to the CAS).

Note, this is how I am able to talk to the CIC on my vehicle to begin with, since by default my VO does not have the CIC.
I need to first change the build date and then add the required CIC vehicle options, but I never use FA_WRITE. With that, NCS Expert sees the CIC and CID modules in a pre-LCI vehicle.

As far as I understand it you must permanently change the VO code.

If not the CIC and associated affected modules will periodically refer and revert to the VO coding to reconfigure themselves.

You also need to have the system somewhat uniformly coded so that everything works correctly.

E.g. your Kombi picks up VO code changes to adapt to the CIC.

Yes you can temporarily change it. Just write new VO to CAS, code the CIC to the car. Reload original VO and FA write to CAS (do not code headunit after with original VO or you'll reset the CIC coding). VO wise, your car doesn't have CIC anymore but coding wise it does.

No need to write the vo to cas.

Edit the FA to include all the VO you need.

Using expert profile default cic.
Switch to manipulation profile edit cic to disable legal disclaimer if needed if not needed just close nscexpert.
