Precisely. These are the people that find a car they like, or has stature, and say "I can afford this amount per month."

So they end up with a 96 month loan.
Wait. They do 96 month loans????

Yeah. I get that. But 3 leases make more sense than a 8 year car loan.

Depends. On what you're leasing vs what you're buying.

Here, every lease, you have to pay all the same TTL for each lease as you would one car.

So presumably, you could lease 3 different super cheap cars, for less than buying a much more expensive one.

I get your point. My point was, if someone is doing an 8 year loan to get affordable payments, a better way to do that would be to lease a car every 3 years. Again, I'm not suggesting that people should lease as a monthly payment buyer, but we all know that is often what happens. Maybe it's just me, but I can't fathom why a bank would write a 8 year loan on a car. Just seems like a risky loan to me.

YEah Okie makes a point, the on-road costs here, random dealer fees, freight etc would tally up SUPER fast on 3 lease deals vs a 9 year loan. This is why i always look for lease take overs, let someone else pay the $2K in mystery fees and the money down, i'll take it from there.

It was fixed a couple of years ago. Everyone pays a same tax on vehicles.

GA TVAT or something like that.

Yup. Luckily I’m set on vehicles. While I tend to change them often for fun I certainly don’t need to and I refuse to reward this nonsense. Let someone else take it in the ass, I’m not the guy.

Local dealer that is usually pretty good was telling me I better get an order in now for a new F150 that I MIGHT get in 5-6 months. She said they are doing orders for MSRP right now but will be moving to above MSRP soon. Same dealer had a USED one on their lot for like $2k over MSRP.

Getting new tires installed on the truck tomorrow. Good for another 4 years.

Anyone who thinks they'll get a better deal in 4 years hasn't accounted for the coming inflation that will hit each new model and perhaps even mid model years. Everything is increasing from materials to energy and wages and why should manufacturers hold back after the way people are paying premiums. Tell yourself you don't need a new car just don't expect a better deal down the line you'll be doing good to get a $5000 rebate after a $15000 increase.

Manufacturers are giving dealers some headway to keep them alive during the supply crunch but when manufacturing picks up they will take a bigger piece while dealers go back to more sales smaller profit per sale.
