Read in Jessie Ventura voice for best effect.
It’s been almost two years. Can’t really expect people to sit still for that long. This thing isn’t going away completely and will be around like the flu. So take precautions but live your life.

I hear ya, I hear ya. I am just worried this thing will turn proper nasty and we get derailed for like 5 years. Say a mortality rate closer to 3 or 4%.

It's all lies at this point. Just live your life. The fear is a way of retaining control and steering markets.

Life has to go on. If we tracked highway injuries/deaths the way they do this thing - we'd all be scared to drive our cars. Death is a part of life, we just learn to accept it in things we are used to. Like a car - do the best you can but keep living.

Surviving is not living.

I went NCL to Alaska the end of September, for a week. We tested 3 days before departure, then at embarkation (if we were negative 3 days, but positive at dock, they refunded $) and had to show proof of vaccination.

Once we got on board, guests did not have to social distance or wear masks, although they had "kiosk" staff at the dining room directing everyone to wash their hands before entry. All staff wore masks.

Nope, I'm still negative.

We have a trip scheduled for 1/2/22, same line, but looks like other issues are going to stop us from that trip.

I tell people this all the time, no one is forcing them to do anything, if they are scared they are free to stay home, I actually preferred they stay home. No one is telling them they have to go out. If they have to go out and are still scared get a hazmat suit, that is the only protection which may prevent you from getting anything just make sure you install a disinfection shower at your home before unsuiting.

All I have to say I now know who to avoid and those who can not assess risk and will follow everyone off the end of the bridge if the media told them to follow.

We're in too deep at this point, and it seems to be negatively affecting a particular group of people now more than before since vaccines are released.

There are people trying to do the right thing still taking hits, which is the real sad part, but it's not like we can go back in time. Like others said, enjoy life, try to be safe, or stay cooped up at home and only leave for work and groceries.

I will say, there are certain places and things I will avoid just to limit the amount of "general public" I'm around at a given time. But I also hate the general public so this has been status quo for years.

Now in the US - they are talking about redefining what it means to be "Vaccinated". I suspect this will become a moving target. Now just the original vax. Soon, original vax + booster. I suspect that trend will continue to move the bar higher as we go.
