Android with zlink sound quality poor?

Hi all,

Hopefully someone can help me with a sound quality issue I have.

I have recently fitted an Xtrons android 10 screen in my Pre LCi E91 with CCC Idrive.

I’ve had it in for about a month now and have got an issue with the sound quality.
It has zlink for wireless Apple car play and for the first 3 week the sound has been perfect. About a week ago when playing my music through car pay the quality has dropped. It now sounds grainy with vocals and slightly muffled

If I play music directly via memory card/usb/hdd it’s still perfect. The original radio is fine, I only get the problem through the zlink car play? The only thing that I can think of that has altered is an iOS update on my phone. Can’t remember if that was at the same time I had the sound issue though.

I’ve tried searching but can’t find anyone that had this issue.

Usually the gating factor for sound quality is the BMW Aux Input .
Everything is downgraded when you use that .
This does not mean that the Source may not be any good.
Everybody buys these cheap Chinese Head Units and they are
not noted for there quality multiplied by the Aux Inputs limitations.
