S55 flywheel on N55 noise issues
Hi all,
a quick question to those who changed to a S55 flywheel on N55 with DKG Did anybody notice a noise coming from the flywheel at idle? sounds like broken dual mass flywheel. i already cut open my first S55 flywheel to find out it wasn't broken and a brand new does exactly the same. wondering if i should switch over to the harmonic balancer from the M2 which comes with the light flywheel. thanks |

Is there anyone where you live that has the Mfactory flywheel? It's an aluminum unit but the chatter isn't that bad from some videos I've watched. Gotta say I'm disappointed to hear that the S55 flywheel was too noisy for you. I still haven't heard one in a N55 in person yet so don't know how it sounds. Was planning on installing one in the future when I drop the transmission for maintenance.

unfortunately no.
it's just in idle though. apply a bit of load and it's quiet, but loud enough to make rethink my bearing clearances on my freshly built motor. switched back to the oem flywheel and all noises gone. than dropped the whole thing again to put in a brand-new OEM M flywheel and the chatter came back. |

thanks for the confirmation.
did you consider to move to this vibration damper? 11 23 7 573 655 i could imagine the weight change on the back of the crank upsets the balancing of the crank. |
