It's either your car is adjusting to the tune and it being catless or you instaled the jb4 wrong somewhere. go check all the connectors.

There is a thread going on the 1 series forum talking about the exact same thing. Maybe if u follow that one it might help. It's an n55 with the JB and catless dp with issues stalling and fluctuating revs.

Also check your battery charge level. I got mine a bit low (heavy usage of REST feature in the winter + radio while engine off) and on couple cold start it actually started fine but 1-2 sec after it stalled. Restarted fine, then stalled again. Had to give it some gas to keep it alive. I realized that my battery was quite low, it all resolved once I gave it a good charge with a battery tender.
Hope this helps! |

I don't think your CP can do anything. You have downpipe, maybe an issue with o2 sensor related to the install...?
Also try your tune on stock mode, map 0. Any codes? |

Yeah, sometimes it's a sensor wire that got pulled out when you installed the harness. Completely remove the tune, I'm not sure if you can change one sensor at a time to the stock one and start the car.
When I had problems like this, shiv asked me to remove my fuel sensor and plug the stock harness in just for that one to see if the car would start. It did and ended up that my procede harness wasn't seated all the way in. Maybe go through your harness and make sure you hear a click when inserted.- |

a customer of ours at ACM had similar issues, i also had this issue in my 135 && just recently fixed the issue in my 335.... for us it seemed to be the oem chargepipe, as well as adjusting the tmap sensor in the jb..... are you local to the tri-state? I would try replacing the chargepipe, i personally went with cp-e's & its been driving awesome since! GLW eveything! Hope it works out! |

hey, i might be or might not be having the same issue, not sure what you mean on "stalling", sometimes, when i start my car, it starts a bit slower as if its having issues starting, not sure why, but it does start, but it bothers me that its not a smooth start.
I have a JB4, ER CP, a stock gutted DP, can someone please explain... also, OP, can you please post a sound clip or a video clip of what you mean when it stalls? thanks |

solutions?
Did anyone find a legit answer to this?
I had the same problem after I had my wastegate freed up (it was seized and sticking closed causing over boost.) The WG is fine now and no more over boost but I did start getting this same issue with the car stalling on a cold start. For me, the car would idle fine but when in gear to drive it would stall unless I gave it more gas than normal (6MT). I adjusted the WG settings in the JB4 (menus 10 and 12) and that improved things but not completely. I still have to give it extra gas to go but then at the next stop, it is fine. 2011 335 xi 6MT catless dp jb4 mhd |
