golf tee mod... can it harm the car?

Hi all

I know this topic has been brought up plenty times. However, before I unplug my acurator, I just want to make sure.

1. Is there anyone who has done this mod and acutually harmed the car?

2. Even if I plug this back in before going into the dealership, would the dealership be able to find out that I had done this mod?

#1, no harm is done
#2, codes are stored, my dealership "replugged" my harness for me, thinking it just fell out accidentally.

unplugged the wire here, no harm yet

I already went for a 7,500 oil change, they did not see any code and did not plug the wire back in, don't think they even checked to be honest...

all aftermarket exhaust, including Dinan, eliminate the flap so I can't imagine it does any harm or how they can deny any warranty work for that

just my noob opinion.

I forgot to mention they were updating my iPod software and that's when they ran the check, for normal maintenance, they don't waste time looking for codes unless you tell them you have some issue.

I did the 'BB' mod. Used a 6mm BB i used to use for my Airsoft guns. Just shoved it in the hose and plugged the hose back in. Worked like a charm!

Was wondering if there would be a chance of SOMEHOW the vacuum hose sucking the 7/32 bearing method and messing with the turbos?

Why do people think the hose that connects this flap is also connected to the engine. It is NOT part of the engine vacuum, it's controlled by an independent servo unit located behind the taillight section. If it happens to become disconnected, engine vacuum will not be tapped. The servo is responsible for CLOSING the flap, its default position is open so if the hose disconnects, you will most likely burn out the servo unit.
