Boost Gauge Observations
Well I got my new boost gauge (digital) from Rick , along with the famous gauge pod, and hooked everything up last night. Actually went relatively easily with the only minor issue being taking some of the interior trim off. The engine work was a breeze. Was nice to get my hands dirty as I haven't worked on the car in a while.
So, I drove into work today in moderate traffic, with some highway. Didn't floor the car but more like very conservative driving due to traffic, and the shocking thing was I hardly made boost all trip. I peaked at 2.1PSI, and only got on the boost 3-4 times. Didn't expect that. I haven't calibrated the gauge to ambient pressure yet, but last night I did some runs and she registered 7-8 PSI (I am stock) so the gauge is reading properly. Any of you guys with boost gauges have the same observations? Mike P.S. Thumbs up to Rick for some great service and a great product!! |

Good post. Yes, if you don't really get on the accelerator, the turbos don't really build any pressure. It's kind of nice to know that when driving normally we are not putting the system under stress from pressure.
It gives me much peice of mind to be able to see what is going on. Thanks for the product offering Rick. |

Recalibrate it and try again, but your findings seem normal....
