Is it me or do all M performance parts for new generation bmws look tacky as hell? Hey let me spend 50-100k on these cars then drop another 15 grand on 3 or 4 tacky pieces to make it look like it was built in japan. This is all subjective so to each their own but it just pains me to see these beautiful cars then they look like someone raided the JEGS catalog except they spent a small fortune on 2 pieces of carbon fiber.

Take away that M-Performance black stripe-looking thing on the side and this would be nice...

If you like watching fast and the furious movies then I guess you like this one.. for me it looks awfull as it has no bmw design personality anymore.. just more of a japanese, asian look
But pretty sure it drives fantastic in m trim
Waiting for delivery on my gc m440i and bought it primarily for its driving and not so much for it looks (dont hate it but dont love it either)
My subaru impreza sti was a hideous car but boy did I enjoy it for 6 full years.
So pretty sure people people will love this car as well overall

I like the wheels and the rear spoiler.

That's where it ends to me with the M Performance parts, with a likely exception of the M Perf Exhaust.

No, it's not just you, they do look tacky as hell, and it is a big deal!

Or there is a small chance that cars like this exist to showcase all the parts and aren't really ever ordered by anyone except perhaps by some tuning companies who get parts for free and want to get clicks.

Put it this way - only person Ive met with BMW Logo projection in doors got them because the car was dealer demo.

I like the carbon rear wing, but that's about it.

Everyone always glosses over the shark fin antenna up top which on this car is an Aramid weave (not carbon as to not affect XM signal). I'd love to get more up close photos of it to see if it's merely just a cover over the existing antenna or a whole shark fin that replaces the painted cover.

For me it's the black skirts being so large. Makes the car look lifted. Same issue with G8x. Maybe body colors or different styling to those elements will pull the overall height appearance down.

Lazy design, don't have the talent to make it beautiful, just make it shocking and controversial.

The Canucks probably like it. It's got hockey sticks glued to the sides, rear, and front by the looks of it.

The front and rear is so fugly… I will have to keep my M235 with CF parts and trim and MPE until it falls apart.

I hate it solely because they didn't make it reach the ends of the panel. That gap is unsightly as all hell and makes it look like a cheap afterthought. You could probably find better fitting parts on Alibaba. Come on bmw…

Thought that was an interesting choice as well. But I don't hate it quite as much as others. Might be worth waiting to see what the aftermarket ones look like. But IDK if I can wait.

Keep in mind though the M Performance parts have been engineered to be functional. This often mean a slight trade off to the look.

These M Performance parts, and new designs overall, appear not to be focus-grouped by the predominantly Western audience here.

Looks fantastic to me. Very aggressive. The aero is in line with what they produced for the M2. The wheels look great. The fitment of everything is OEM-perfect and the materials look to be of the expected quality.

M-Performance stickers have always been love-or-hate.

A 1-1.5" drop will make this look even better.

This is a lot of visual drama and excitement and curb appeal for technically the bottom-of-the-range product. The G42 in its various forms is a really good value in many ways. They will sell a lot of them.
