SZL not working after retrofit - cruise control
Recently i bought a E90 320i 2005
This car was looking good but the previews owner lie to me and basically sold me a really bad car with hidden stuff. In this case i found out that The Multifuntion Buttons on the steering wheel were not working at all. So I decide to change them and buy ones on aftermarket. When I decide to change them I found out that the original Clock spring from the car did not have the pins to connect the Multifuntion Buttons.. So this means that this car basically came with the standard empty Stering wheel and this guy wanted to put buttons and since it did not, he just left the wheel like it is and sold the car. Now that is on my hands, I want to activate them, but in order to do that I need to change also the Switch Cluster, and put the Clock and swith cluster that have the pins , to be able to connect the mutifuntion buttons. Because of this and since im already starting to change Swith Cluster and Clock spring.. I thought .. mmmhh lets put the Basic Control Cruise one… because this car does not have … So at the end I bought from a E91 2007 aftermarket … a full Switch Cluster with Clock spring and Basic Control Cruise .. to put on my E90 The OEM part I bought is 6989583-02 and my car have the 696265403 If you google them you will see the difference that im talking about.. Basically one is just Lights and wiper arms without pins for Multifuntion buttons, and the other one is Lights, wipers and Control Cruise arms with pins for Multifuntion Button Both parts fits.. but I read that when you want to do the Retrofit on Control Cruise… not all the Switch Clusters are accepted by the car at the moment of coding. Still I decide to Change it and CODE and see what happens… But the true is that, now any of the ARMS on the Switch Cluster Works.. even after coding. So I don’t know if its because CODING or because the part is not the right one. Here is what I did on CODING: OPEN NCS EXPERT – FILE – LOAD FILE – Select Expertenmodus Werkseinstellung F1 – Start - then F3 Chassis – Select E89 – Select CAS F6 – back F4 – Process ECU – Select KOMBI – F4 – Read ECU Go to WORK Folder take the File FSW_PSW.TRC , change it to FSW_PSW.MAN Open the file with NOTEPAD , look for TEMPOMAT and change Value to 02. In my case the value was 01. Save and close Then Go again to NCEXPERT File - Load File – Select Manipulation F4 – Process ECU – Select KOMBI F3 – Execute JOB and wait.. for code ended. At this point all god, and code was correctly done. So as a recommendation I turn OFF car and took the key out, wait for 10 sec and then put the key in and push start again to continue coding. I open NCSEXPERT again File – Load File – Select Manipulation F1 – Start – F3 chassis – E89 – Select CAS F2 – Edit VO/FA – Select E89 then Vin number Checked – Then FA and in Attribute I wrote $540 and ADD it . F6 – back F4 – Process ECU – Select CAS F2 – Change JOB – FA_WRITE F3 – Execute Job – Code ended correct Then F1 – Change ECU – Select FRM F3- Execute Job – Code ended correct Close NCS Expert and open again F1 – Start – F3 Chassis – Select E89 and Select CAS F6 – Back F4 – Process ECU – Select DSC F3 – Execute Job – Code Ended correctly. Then open Tool32 Load SGBD and go to file DSC_87 and also I did it with DSC_89 and Job List double click on LENKWINKEL_DSC_ABDLE…. To clear codes from Air Bag , etc etc… Some codes were deleted but the airbag did NOT. Then turn Off car and turn on.. check the Swich Culster Arms work, and NOTHING , Code from Airbag still there, so I check on IMPA error codes, clear them , and then Airbag went OFF, But still the ARMS are Zero responding… Only the buttons for MENU work on the High Light Arm and the button for Rain Sensor on the Wiper ARM. The rest .. no mater were do you move them.. they Don’t do Nothing.. Did I did something wronge??? PLEASE HELP Last edited by mgrimau; 01-13-2022 at 03:52 AM.. |
