I have to agree with his assessment of the car, it is IMHO just terrible. Regarding his theories I have no opinion, this isn't the first time BMW has built a car that leaves people going WTF?

I hated it the minute I saw it.
Don't need Frank's consensual validation to not like it, but it's nice to see it anyway! As for his comments on the variety of angles in the wheel arches around the round wheels, BMW has been doing that on the X3 for some time—and I didn't like it, either. Being conditioned to the horrendous iX made me hate the XM less than I would have otherwise.
It'll sell well though. There are plenty of BMW badge enthusiasts out there, just see the "All time sales record" thread on the front page.
