This was the response from BMW
Dear Mr. Hoosier:
Thank you for contacting BMW of North America, LLC regarding your 2008 BMW 335xi. I was sorry to read of your dissatisfaction with your BMW. Please accept my apologies for the frustration and inconvenience you have experienced. Please be assured the quality of our vehicles receives our constant attention, nevertheless, despite our best efforts, a problem may occur with a particular vehicle or component. I suggest speaking directly with the service manager at your BMW center about the issues you have experienced with your BMW. The service manager has access to BMW engineering and regional representatives who are in the best position to review your concerns. If you have any further questions, please reply to this e-mail or contact the Customer Relations and Services Department at 1-800-831-1117, Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M., Eastern Standard Time. Again, thank you for contacting BMW. Sincerely, Laurie Burkland Customer Relations and Services Representative The dealer told me to "give it 1500mi or so and let it learn your driving habits and then we will re-evaluate" This complaint was for turbo lag and no power delivery until 3000 rpm I think Im' gunna get fisted and then made to like it!!! ![]()

Have you driven another new 335? just wondering how do you there is a turbo lag, I never felt mine in such way when new nor that I looked for any. I know I can feel the turbo spooning at around 2k-2.5k rpm.
beat the hell outta the car, hopefully, if something is wrong, it will finish breaking. Hopefully they wont ask you to drive the car until service is due, and fix it. GL

Lame canned response that you always get from BMWNA. *sigh*...

The service manager is the one with contact with engineering. At least the info is correct.

you should ask your service manager to test drive your vehicle with you and test drive a new vehicle on their lot. this way, you can make fair comparisons that there are no big discrepancies.

and lag...hmm...when I first got my car, the acceleration got better and better...so there might be something in another 1500mls. Drive another one just to be sure. |

the first 300km i drove under 4k.... next 200km up to 5k.... then 150km up to 6k...tried a few times to 8.5 psi then first oil change @ 700KM... now at nearly 850km..man it PULLS....PULLS WAY harder then ever.. the more i drive it, the more it feels faster and less laggy (im on 29.2 it definately lags tho).... I dont know if this makes any different..but i've been on 94 octane since 1st fillup after the free tank from dealership....

I'm thinking he is talking about the associated lag from 29.2 vs the previous progman's. If the new cars all have that same software they'll drive the same way. It's only those of us who have had the previous versions of software who should notice the difference in spool.

All these responses are clearly from folks who haven't driven 29.2
Drive a 29.2 and you will know. The car is a waste below 3000. |

No kidding, it's that bad? It's like they are trying to find reasons to keep us from coming in for service. I take all my mods out to be safe and now I don't even want to go in for service just to avoid the software update. Dismal.

+1 I just got the red car on a lift sybmol accompanied by my hand brake light being constantly on. After research on here it seems to be faulty brake sensor. I dont even want to bring my car in for them to replace that! I'm afraid even if I tell them / threaten them no to install 29.2 they might still do it. this is bullshit.
