Battery Ah and CCA question

Hi guys,

I need to replace my old 74Ah 68CCA crap battery, which seems to be on its way out,

Any idea what the recommended Ah and CCA rating is recommended for a 2007 E90 335i?

This is for a non AGM battery.

I replaced mine with an 800CCA battery and have had pretty good results, lately at -30c though I've had a few hard cranks to start but it always started first try.

Thanks, I'm getting a 85Ah / 800CCA battery.

The 74Ah one does work but CCA is low and it struggles sometimes when it's cold ambient temps.

-30C lol, that's ridiculously cold, are on the North Pole?

Goodluck, that should be more than fine if you aren't getting crazy cold temps like me lol, I'm in Ontario it's been ridiculous lately.

You can replace it with any H6, H7 or H8 battery you choose. They all fit and should all give good service. Remember that if you change the Ah rating you should re-code CAS to take that into account. However, small changes in capacity are not likely to cause problems if re-coding is not performed. If changing from FLA to AGM, re-coding should be performed.

Thanks mate, I'm aware of the need to code, I'm assuming Bimmergeeks Protool app should be able to do that right?

I have no idea what H6, H7 or H8 mean?
