I’m trying to bring the coolant temp up on the hidden menu on my sons lci e91. I’m doing exactly the same as I do on my pre lci which works fine but on his when I get to 7 and stop it just goes back out of the hidden menu.
Is it different on lci’s?

It's no different on my LCI. I don't have a solution for your issue but can confirm that the coolant temp shows up on LCI when you get to menu 7.

Start the procedure again from fresh, maybe you missed a step! Failing that, if you have a decent/bmw specific code reader you can get all the stats up on that

I’ve got Carly (bought before monthly subs) so we can check it when I’m with him, just wanted for him to check it when I’m not.
Anyway, turned out i was adding up 6 numbers from his vin so coming up with the wrong code. Don’t know what I was thinking!
Surprisingly putting the wrong code in still allows you to see options 1 and 2!
Turns out his temps are good and his alternator (option 9) is working just fine.

So silly BMW force us to jump through these hoops just to check the temp... oh well
