318d n47 issues (EGR)
Chaps and chapettes,
Got an issue with my 57 318d (n47), loss of power and had an engine light come up; codes on Carista state: 40E9 - EGR actuator position control 4501 - Exhaust Gas recirculation - negative deviation or aim mass too high 40A4 - EGR actuactor position, long term drift. Cleaned the MAP sensor and EGR valve, to no avail. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated! |

Hello,
Wanted ask if you're getting any vibrations and/or noises from the engine also? Reason I'm asking is I've got similar issue with my car (same as yours) and I've posted about it on this forum. The only difference is I'm not getting lights or codes thrown up. In your case, have you tried running the engine with the MAF disconnected? Did you clear the faults after the clean-up? I've read that sometimes it doesn't help with cleaning the EGR as it could be an issue with the electrical part of it. |
Appreciate
