V3 + MSD81 + Many Questions

To anyone who can provide some answers, very appreciated:
  1. Assume I want the V3 (entire package) on August 1 - when should I order it?
  2. Will the V3 come with a map that is compatible with MSD81?
  3. Shiv mentioned they are still working on getting the most out of MSD81, will that be in future map updates?
  4. If so, any idea when?
  5. It seems with homelink, the default will be Map 1 (lower boost), and you have to activate Map 2 (full power). Can this be adjusted? I.e., can I make default "full power", and map 2 valet?
  6. I think the V3 negates the effects of 29.2 and the wastegate issue (causing lag), correct?
  7. If so, would that also negate the lower and deeper exhaust tone?
  8. If so, any way to keep that lower exhaust tone?
  9. V3 does not require datalogging, correct?
  10. Shiv, if we can organize 10+ people at a certain city for installs, would you consider an install day (a la Houston or Bimmerfest)?
  11. Is the SSTT the only other non-pin extracting option for the MSD81 currently?

Thanks all.

I know Shiv has some sort of doomsday map out that makes it undetectable, just not sure if you have to request that specifically or if that is the default map that comes on all V3s now..

  2. Will the V3 come with a map that is compatible with MSD81? All future V3 map will be compatable since everything will be designed around doomsday maps.
  3. Shiv mentioned they are still working on getting the most out of MSD81, will that be in future map updates? I would imagine it has to be with future maps, there is no other way to do it.
  4. If so, any idea when? ASAP, there are always updates going on. I know of a couple things going on right now that will help AT dramatically.
  5. It seems with homelink, the default will be Map 1 (lower boost), and you have to activate Map 2 (full power). Can this be adjusted? I.e., can I make default "full power", and map 2 valet? I dont think this can be adjusted. Basically you have 3 maps. Valet (depending on RPM setting), Low boost map, and high boost map. If you want to switch to valet just turn your car off and back off without reving over the RPM setting.
  6. I think the V3 negates the effects of 29.2 and the wastegate issue (causing lag), correct? I believe it trys to. There is only so much you can do while staying within stock parameters and making power though. He always controls the wastegate duty cycle to get ride of the "wastegate chattering" that some people have had problems with.
  7. If so, would that also negate the lower and deeper exhaust tone? No idea on this one....
  8. If so, any way to keep that lower exhaust tone? No idea again....
  9. V3 does not require datalogging, correct? If you have a boost gauge then there is no need for datalogging if you dont want to. As with any tune it is imperative that you have a boost gauge to monitor what is going on.
  10. Shiv, if we can organize 10+ people at a certain city for installs, would you consider an install day (a la Houston or Bimmerfest)? I am sure for the right price he will come out there....
  11. Is the SSTT the only other non-pin extracting option for the MSD81 currently? The current PnP options out there are V3, SSTT, and JB3 (on the horizion. Keep in mind that you still need to use a pin-out extraction for the power wire and you need to have an external ground wire as well.

Thanks all.
Hope that helps.....

In #4 you state "AT", does that mean automatic or adjustable torque or something else?

The boys are printing out shipping labels as I type this.

My recollection is Shiv said yes for right now, but he hopes to negate that very soon.

Still waiting on some authority to chime in on the rest of the questions (or all of them). Shiv?

I hope so. . Shiv is usually good, like when you summon batman with that spotlight, he seems to just appear and chime in...hopefully he won't hold back on this thread much longer.
