E92 Chassis Plug and play?
I’m curious how plug and play these chassis are with one another, I’m thinking about swapping a 2Jz I have into an e92 and using the GS6-53bz and probably using the rear end of an e92 M3. Would a 328i have the same mounting points for the motor trans and diff? I assume is would but you know what they say about making assumptions. If I can get away with buying some clapped out 328i with a 6AT and save some money that’d be ideal.

RWD vs AWD have different transmission mounting points, the AWD cars mount to the car by the transfer case, not the transmission itself.
Also, I'm fairly sure that the M3 diff needs an M3 subframe, but I'm not 100% on that. There are adapters made to run an aluminum Ford 8.8 diff that would probably be a better choice for your application anyways. |
